How to Reach Namchi

Namchi can be reached from Gangtok which is around 80KM. The nearest Railway station is New Jalpaiguri Station which is around 100 Km (4Hrs Drive). One can also use the Rangpo Railway station which in 2024 after its completion would be the nearest one.

Namchi is also well connected via flights. Nearest airport in Sikkim is Pakyong which is around 35Km south of Gangtok. In west Bengal Bagdogra Airport is around 100Km which is well connected to all the cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad and all other major cities in India. The Road to Namchi is well connected to all the towns in Sikkim and Darjeeling district in West Bengal. Samdruptse Hill

Samdruptse Hill; the 'wish fulfilling hill' is just 5 km away from Namchi, and is one of the top places to visit in Sikkim. It is here the world’s tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava is perched. The 45 m tall statue, overlooks the whole Namchi town, and is gilded with gold that glitters when the sunlight falls over it. The view from Samdruptse hill is something to be cherished and enjoyed. This statue can be view miles away from Namchi. In the Bhutia language, the name Samdruptse means 'wish fulfilling hill' and the place is a famous pilgrimage centre of Sikkim.
The gigantic statue was built in a period of seven years and took 7 years for completion. The foundation stone was laid by Dalai Lame in 1997 and the construction has been sponged by Govt. of Sikkim. The best time to visit this place is during the month from October to June and when the weather is pleasing and the views are soul fulfilling. The entry fee applied here is Rs. 30 per adult.

Siddeshwar Dham

Siddeshwar Dham is the most visited place in Sikkim in 2022. Over time this place has gained immense popularity among travellers and is undouble is the most popular and best tourism attraction in Sikkim. Ngadak Monastery

One of the oldest monestories in Sikkim is the Ngadak Monastery situated in at a distance from Namchi Town. It was built during the reign of Chogyal Gyurmed Namgyal by Tensung Namgyal somewhere around the 17th Century.  The place has such a calming effect on and is not crowded and is very peaceful and the prayer flags welcome the tourists while they enter inside the complex.

Tarey Bhir

Tarey Bhir is a 3 km long stone ridge on a high cliff located at Sadam village(5700 ft) near Namchi in South Sikkim..  It is one of the amazing points of interest in Namchi and among the popular places. It  is a 10000 feet long cliff edge with almost 3500 feet abrupt drop. The hilltop of Tarey Bhir is covered in pine forests .
